It is Time to See the Light
Topic: Politics|It is ok, conservatives, you can vote for Obama. The current climate in this nation is going to require energy and vigor and let’s face it, John McCain ain’t no spring chicken. Also, (I had to throw that in there for Sarah’s sake) Sarah Palin is too risky to have as a number two for a very old President. If I can’t convince you, how about listening to the son of one of America’s most famous conservatives…and a conservative himself.
The son of William F. Buckley has decided—shock!—to vote for a Democrat.
The Daily Beast
Let me be the latest conservative/libertarian/whatever to leap onto the Barack Obama bandwagon. It’s a good thing my dear old mum and pup are no longer alive. They’d cut off my allowance.
Or would they? But let’s get that part out of the way. The only reason my vote would be of any interest to anyone is that my last name happens to be Buckley—a name I inherited. So in the event anyone notices or cares, the headline will be: “William F. Buckley’s Son Says He Is Pro-Obama.” I know, I know: It lacks the throw-weight of “Ron Reagan Jr. to Address Democratic Convention,” but it’ll have to do.

Talk about seeing the light… Why dont you post about Obama giving a tax cut to everyone making 250K or less. Great article from the Wall Street Journal. This is where I fundamently disagree with Obama and I hope you do to.

America became the greatest country in the world by hard working Americans. Obama wants to create a system where you have little incentive to make more money, especially if you are poor and getting all of that free money. I guess you dont care about that because he is not Bush.

Please. We are bailing out the richest Americans to the tune of $700 billion and you are worrying about the least of us. The government is set to take on part ownership of banks. We are moving toward socialism and the way I look at it, if the rich are going to benefit from this seismic shift, why not the poor.
Also, go to the Tax Foundation web site referred to in your WSJ article: http://www.taxfoundation.org/
They aren’t too high on McCain’s plans either.

So when did 2 wrongs ever make a right. You have been pretty weak on your arguments back. I am not defending McCains plan at all. That was not the point. My point is that we need to have a system where you are rewarded for working hard not hardly working.

Let’s be real about the current situation. Neither candidate will have the funds available to do what they want. The question is who will be the better steward of bringing the US out of the malaise that was created by both parties in regard to fiscal matters and by Bush in terms of foreign entanglements. My vote goes to the smartest person running and I firmly believe that is Obama. If you wish to remain partisan for partisan’s sake then I guess you have learned nothing from voting for Bush twice. If I had voted for Bush not once but twice I would feel (if I was a Catholic) it necessary to go to confessional over it because it is a sin. There is only one way to show penance politically and you know what that involves.

Sarah is more qualified to be POTUS
Than Barack Hussein Obama. Why he won’t even pledge allegiance to the
American flag for fear of offending people. Well that flap offends me!
Where does his allegiances lie? Obama was only a senator a very short time. His role in state Govt
was well to say he voted present 120+ times…I am American 1st and only want whats best for the republic. Both political partie’s be damned. For the first time in y adult life i fear for the republic.

I’m interested in why you believe Palin is more qualified.
