About

The winds of human progress have always been defined by the liberal. Jesus Christ worked against the established order of Jewish clergy and Roman rule. The advance of British common law had always been at odds with the reigning monarchs. Martin Luther faced peril at the hands of the Roman Catholic Church as he sought to rectify the Christian faith. Free thinkers like Galileo were constantly censored by the Catholic Church. The birth of the US was purely a liberal movement. Those radicals who gave breath to this nation made their goal the removal of British monarchial hegemony. Each durable advancement in this nation was carried out by liberal movements. The Declaration of Independence, the abolition of slavery, minority and women’s suffrage, Social Security, and the Civil Rights movement of the later half of the 20th century were all driven by liberals. The aim of this blog is to ride the historical relevance of liberalism and use pragmatism, not ideology, to address the significant political and social policies of the day.
